Tanjung Piai National Park is a well-known destination located in the southernmost tip of mainland Asia in the state of Johor (district of Pontian), Malaysia, where therefore, as far south as you can go on the continent of Asia. The park covers an area of 926 hectares and was established in 1927 as a mangrove swamp. It was declared a national park in 2003, making it one of the youngest national parks in Malaysia.

One of the main attractions of Tanjung Piai National Park Johor is its unique mangrove forest ecosystem. When you reach here, there are two main area that you need to explore which is the Southernmost Tip of Mainland Asia area and the long ‘three countries’ pier. If you want to stay here for a night, there is a resort hotel called Tanjung Piai Ressort, built on stilts above the sea. The name ‘long three countries pier is because from here, you can see three country which is Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

How to go to Tanjung Piai Johor National Park

To go to Tanjung Piai Johor National Park, it will take about 30 minutes from Iskandar Puteri / Puteri Harbour or Tuas road crossing from Singapore, but make sure to use the new highway/road (Sungai Pulai Bridge)
